Heritage Hill
An historic, eclectic place to live.
Overlooking downtown Grand Rapids stands Heritage Hill, one of the country’s largest historic districts. It was the first “neighborhood” of Grand Rapids and is adjacent to downtown. This neighborhood is a testament to the wealthy past of the city. Some of Grand Rapids’ first residents, who made fortunes harvesting lumber and building furniture from the region’s plentiful forests, built huge mansions in the area as early as 1845. Today, the population is equally diverse. Professionals, trades people, artisans and students; singles, couples and families, renters and homeowners; people of backgrounds make Heritage Hill home.
